Unproblematic and useful. Clear tactics and also some hints to understand people's behaviours and also mine. Actually fabricated quite a few notes. Some of them:

These essays are interesting but are short and don't become into very much depth. I think dealing with difficult people is a skill that'southward hard to teach or talk about though, every bit it's mostly a learned skill and requires case-by-case adjustments. Harvard Concern Review´s series which is focused on how to be more man at work is an intriguing i among books that discuss emotional intelligence at work.

This book specifically, is a wisely knit series of instance studies at work that, for starters seem extremely handy and practical- and as an aftertaste reminded me of real life work situations that did happen, which would have benefited from the negotiation techniques taught in here. This book specifically, is a wisely knit series of case studies at work that, for starters seem extremely handy and practical- and every bit an aftertaste reminded me of real life work situations that did happen, which would have benefited from the negotiation techniques taught in here. A serial of articles written by different leaders in the field. Having different chapters past different people was a bespeak of interest for me. Non but were the topics unlike (e.g. dealing with a stress-caput, dealing with a boss you detest, etc.) only it was a unlike view bespeak.

Even so it was an 'overview' of the issue; possibly with 1 or ii examples. Not as in depth as I had expected. A good 5-minute brainstormer that might help you lot in a catchy state of affairs, merely information technology's non a gospel.

Very good book that is a collection of articles on the topic of hard situations at work. The manufactures provide a sound and practical advice of managing bullies, passive aggressive colleagues, dealing with a boss you lot may not like, working with people who believe everything is urgent. In that location is a reason for this book to be a part of emotional intelligence serial!

This was a cute, easy, relatable and helpful read for young personnel like me, who haven't developed their own tactics to deal with difficult people or difficult situations at work. Only that does not mean everything i read was new. In fact, i idea all the advises and articles are pretty much what i try to do at work everyday. But having specified advises for each hard character was very helpful. From what i understood, I think following are what all these articles are trying to say:

This was a beautiful, easy, relatable and helpful read for young personnel similar me, who haven't developed their ain tactics to bargain with difficult people or difficult situations at piece of work. But that does not mean everything i read was new. In fact, i thought all the advises and articles are pretty much what i try to do at work everyday. Only having specified advises for each hard character was very helpful. From what i understood, I think post-obit are what all these articles are trying to say:

1. Assess the real situation without any of your emotions involved - which ways country and face the facts and find out what is ur play in this, too
two. Then create your customized strategies, whether it is to face up the difficult situations or difficult people like your colleague, boss or subordinate. The strategies can vary similar talk with the difficult person kindly, take empathy and bring out the discussions. Or fifty-fifty exit. Sometimes when several facts prove that yous are straight-up being bullied, you need to exit.

These two have been the most common advises, but what i liked most and what was the almost hard thing to practice was to have empathy for the person who is making your life difficult, sort of like Exist the bigger person kinda thing. So i rate this book equally a helpful one, just not exactly what i was looking for.

A collection of HBR articles, perhaps with some editing, purportedly about dealing with hard people, only really about conflict and resolution. A typical affiliate (article) would outline a trouble, present a real-life scenario with a shallow resolution, and wrap up with two-3 rules of thumb, without really providing whatsoever significant insights. I almost experience every bit if most of the volume tin exist summed up every bit communicate, emphasize, reflect, and stay level-headed. Excellent summary version from multiple experts on dealing with hard people, whether it be subordinates or managers/bosses. I particularly liked the introduction which spoke about identifying if the conflict was hot or cold - I've never heard of such an important point to dealing with conflict and it really allows you to step back and assess the best approach to tackle the issues you're faced with, and not the people. Highly recommend to anyone that manages people peculiarly - as it says in Splendid summary version from multiple experts on dealing with difficult people, whether it be subordinates or managers/bosses. I specially liked the introduction which spoke about identifying if the conflict was hot or cold - I've never heard of such an of import point to dealing with conflict and it actually allows you to footstep dorsum and assess the best approach to tackle the issues yous're faced with, and not the people. this is probably the virtually random thing i've read. aye this book was literally just about work and how to deal with hard colleagues. so if you lot're working in a office or something so read this. if you are not then don't. perhaps i'll come up dorsum and read this when i'm older and am really working with colleagues just for now i will give this to my sister. i did learn some stuff though that i took away such as like dealing with stressful situations and such and dealing with difficulty personalit this is probably the about random thing i've read. yes this volume was literally just about work and how to deal with difficult colleagues. and then if you're working in a part or something then read this. if you are not then don't. maybe i'll come up back and read this when i'thou older and am actually working with colleagues but for now i will give this to my sister. i did learn some stuff though that i took away such as similar dealing with stressful situations and such and dealing with difficulty personalities. only i got this at the airport and i simply wanted to give a review on it ...more

I came across this volume on my way dwelling house from a long trip. Even though I'm a university pupil in my 2nd semester the title spoke to me. Dealing with difficult people has been a prominent part of my life because I still don't have that much feel with conflicts. Then this book helped me see how other people resolve conflicts in a positive manner. Another aspect I really liked were the examples given and guidelines to follow in certain situations. I will definitely continue those tips in mind! I came beyond this book on my way domicile from a long trip. Even though I'm a academy pupil in my 2d semester the title spoke to me. Dealing with hard people has been a prominent part of my life considering I nevertheless don't have that much experience with conflicts. And then this book helped me see how other people resolve conflicts in a positive mode. Another aspect I really liked were the examples given and guidelines to follow in sure situations. Very practical book that teaches you how to manage a difficult conversation and bargain with hard colleagues.

I am an individual contributor then never gave much idea about this topic. Simply since recently I am dealing with difficult colleagues, I constitute the need to read this volume. Turned out this volume was very thought-provoking. I am ready to use what I learned from this book to handle like situation adjacent calendar week.
